Ballet Chesapeake offers a pre-professional division for dance students who hope to take their training into the professional dance world or a college dance program after high school. The company offers numerous performance opportunities and the chance for students to work with professional dancers and choreographers to build their experience and growth as a dancer. Past professionals have included dancers or choreographers from New York City Ballet, Washington Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and Pennsylvania Ballet. 

Auditions: Mid May 2025

Pre-registration is required.

The audition is open to anyone with intermediate to advanced ballet experience ages 11 and up currently registered at the Dance Conservatory of Maryland or another local dance school. We strongly suggest arriving early to stretch and warm up. Dancers should wear a black leotard, pink footed tights, pink ballet slippers, and hair in a neat bun. Students with at least one year of experience in pointe shoes should take the class en pointe.

Dancers ages 6 and up are invited to audition for Ballet Chesapeake's spring production of Sleeping Beauty. Dancers selected will be cast for various children's roles. Please arrive 30 minutes early for registration and come prepared to dance.

Dancers must currently be enrolled in a ballet class at any local Maryland dance school. Dancers should wear a solid color leotard and pink tights with hair in a ballet bun.

A parent meeting for those dancers auditioning will be held following the audition. Performances dates are TBD.
