MISSION AND HISTORY
The Mission of Ballet Chesapeake is to provide the highest quality dance education and performance opportunities in Harford County and exceptional dance entertainment and enrichment to the community.
Ballet Chesapeake works to incorporate the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion in everything that we do. We believe we can best achieve our mission by creating a climate of respect that is supportive of all voices, celebrating diverse stories, increasing arts access, and sparking discussion about our community and our world through the art of dance form and our artistic programming.

Ballet Chesapeake is the premier classical and contemporary dance company in the Northern Maryland region. Formerly known as The Harford Ballet Company, the company is composed of dedicated pre-professionals who audition each year and commit to a rigorous schedule of technique classes, rehearsals, and ballet performances.
Ballet Chesapeake gives company members the opportunity to explore their full dance potential and to interact closely with respected experts in the field of dance. Company members perform alongside professional dancers in productions and learn technique and choreography from master dance teachers. Through this intensive training, Ballet Chesapeake dancers have a unique opportunity for personal growth and development. As dancers strive to achieve their own artistic goals, they gain invaluable life skills. This personal growth and accomplishment is not only of value to each dancer, but it is also an asset to the Harford County community.
