Dance classes for children ages 18 months to 3 years explore basic rhythmic activities and locomotor skills using props and the open space in the dance studio. Designed for one parent/guardian and child to attend together. Children at this level do not perform on stage.

Children ages 3 and 4 are taken on a fun-filled educational journey into the world of dance, stimulating their imagination and introducing them to musicality, locomotor skills, and group movement activities using bright visuals and a variety of music. The child participates without a grown-up for a 45-minute class. Children at this level do not perform on stage.

A preparatory dance class designed for young dancers ages 4 and 5. Students are introduced to classroom etiquette, basic floor and freestanding exercises, musicality, imagination, mastery of gross locomotor skills, and patterning in choreography. DCM is committed to ensuring that all students have uniform options that honor their unique selves and enable them to feel confident and comfortable while dancing. Students are encouraged to select the options below that best align with their gender identity.
Skirts and warm ups may be worn at the discretion of the instructor for Ballet levels 3 and up. Ballet warmup attire is limited to ballet sweaters, shrugs, and leg warmers. No Sweats or baggy clothing. No T-shirts.
Long hair must be secured in a bun at ALL times . Dancers may have natural hairstyles such as twists, braids, and cornrows into the ballet bun. If hair is short, a headband or hairspray/gel will be necessary to hold the hair back away from the face and neck. For safety, no hair beads or jewelry beyond stud earrings are allowed for ballet classes.

Tights and slippers color should match dancer's skin tone; fair skinned dancers should have pink tights and slippers.
Please note leotards and tights should be worn without undergarments.

PreBallet & Tap
Any color leotard, skin tone or pink tights, ballet slippers, and black patent leather tap shoes. Skirts are allowed. Hair in ballet bun.

Tight-fitted T-shirt or leotard. Black tights or leggings. Black ballet slippers or white ballet slippers with thin white socks.
